Who We Are

We’re Here For You

Help your business grow and simplify your life by not worrying about your used cooking oil disposal and grease trap servicing.
Lower your carbon footprint and contribute to a better environment by choosing us to recycle your used cooking oil into environmentally friendly biodiesel.

Our Story

We have been collecting used cooking oil from all over Metro Vancouver and transforming it into biodiesel for over 10 years. The biodiesel that is produced is a cleaner, biodegradable, non-toxic fuel and when compared to petroleum diesel, it offers a 50% reduction in greenhouse gases, hydrocarbon emissions, harmful particulate matter, and up to an 85% smaller carbon footprint.

Our waste-to-fuel model is 100% local that yields a positive energy balance by generating more energy than it takes to produce, refine and distribute, especially because they are made with local sources.

Values

Our values express what we believe. They are the traits we hold in high regard and the benchmark by which to measure performance.

Trust

Trust is defined as having confidence, faith, or hope in someone or something. Just as we trust that the sun rises every morning, we trust in one another and in our process. As this belief and confidence are placed on you, it defines your character, ability, strength, and reliability, which must never be broken.

Integrity

Integrity is the practice of being honest and showing a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. Integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one's actions.

Kaizen (Constant Improvement)

Kaizen is a business philosophy meaning "change for the better" or "continuous improvement." Kaizen sees improvement in productivity as a gradual and methodical process involving all employees. Small changes can involve quality control, on-time service, standardized work, the use of efficient equipment and technologies, and the elimination of waste. Changes can come from any employee anytime and small changes now can have big future impacts.

Commitment to Excellence

Commitment is being "bound emotionally or intellectually to a course of action." We are emotionally bound to continuously pursue excellence and it’s a choice we all must make. It’s hard work to always be our best but it requires us to analyze our feelings and our practice to identify our areas of weakness. Then we must improve the knowledge, skills, and attitudes we find lacking. Excellence in practice means being up to date with all areas of our craft and being able to perform all of our skills.

Teamwork

A culture of teamwork focuses on the team rather than on individual accomplishments. It encourages collaboration and allows for tasks to be completed in a more efficient manner because we are working towards a common goal. Accountability is important because members of the team need to understand that they are responsible for the team’s success and failure. Effective communication is equally important because members of any team should offer new ideas, share all information, and request feedback in a timely manner. Listen to what other team members are saying and acknowledge their input by accepting or building on suggestions offered. Moreover, effective communication patterns within successful organizations have three main characteristics: clarity, courtesy, and proactivity.

Resource Ecosystem

EcoZero is closing the loop on organic materials that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill. This begins by creating a resource ecosystem – one that both protects the environment and sustains the local community. It’s a ‘closed loop’ ecosystem that makes it possible for the communities EcoZero serves to achieve high landfill diversion and meet sustainability goals.

People

It takes a team of dedicated people to create positive change. Our teams are continuously working to find solutions to global waste issues – and they’re nothing short of dedicated.

Collection

Identify the needs of the community and propose and implement programs to collect and process materials.

Recovery

Design strategies, deploy collection bins, and establish outreach and education programs.

Processing

Build infrastructure and invest in capital expenditures includes machinery and technologies to extract reusable resources.

Marketing & Commodities

Ensure that recycled commodities are sold to manufacturers that will create further recyclable consumer goods.

Our sustainability programs promote workforce diversity, inclusivity, and career advancement, support investments in material recovery technologies, advance procurement of renewable and carbon-free energy, and enhance strategic expansions of our composting infrastructure. These commitments help define sustainability at EcoZero and illustrate our dedication to a more resilient future for the communities we serve.

Environment

Beyond commitments to continually improve our resource recovery services, EcoZero minimizes environmental impacts through increased adoption – and production – of renewable energy, reducing emissions, and enhancing the resource efficiency of our operations.

Community

EcoZero empowers communities by providing education and outreach materials that promote resource recovery and waste reduction. We also support community events and organizations through our volunteer program and other local initiatives.

Culture

As a family-owned company, EcoZero fosters a workplace culture centered around collaboration and teamwork. By prioritizing safety, supporting development, and championing diversity, EcoZero creates an environment for employee owners to GROW.

  • Giving back to our communities and our environment by volunteering time and
  • Recovering resources to achieve their best and highest use.
