The EcoZero Recycling Process

Our process helps businesses recycle their cooking oil in an effective and meaningful way

Many companies are interested in working with us to find a way to recycle their used cooking oil. But we get a lot of questions about the actual process.

How does it work?

How long does it take?

Is it difficult or messy?

The answers, in order:

You save your oil, we pick it up, you get rewarded.

Just a few minutes whenever you need it.

Nope, not at all.

EcoZero has a proven system for helping local businesses reclaim, get rewarded, and convert their used cooking oil into clean-burning, renewable biodiesel.

To give you a better understanding of our process, we wanted to map out the full thing–from start to finish.

We have a 5-step process that allows us to collect and convert your used cooking oil and turn it into biodiesel, a renewable substitute for petroleum diesel. Using biodiesel as a vehicle fuel increases energy security, improves air quality and the environment, and provides safety benefits.

This is how the process works.

Step 1: Contact Us and Join

The first step is when you contact us to join the EcoZero family.

We explain how the process works, discuss the collection methods, and provide details about your rewards and schedules.

It’s important to know that we do not usually solicit anyone to work with us. So, if you want to get started and learn more about converting your used cooking oil into an environment-friendly fuel (and compensation for your business), then take the first step and contact us.

Step 2: Deliver Containers

Once you agree to join us, we deliver the containers needed to collect used cooking oil safely and cleanly.

These specially designed containers allow us to collect used cooking oil quickly and easily from anywhere in our numerous service areas.

Some of our clients use existing bins or containers to accumulate their used cooking oil, but we provide these containers free of charge to anyone who requests them.

Step 3: Collect Oil and Reward

On the first scheduled pickup, our team will arrive at your location to collect your used cooking oil.

The entire process takes just a few minutes and our team is specially trained to collect efficiently, leaving the area cleaner than we found it. We arrive in specialized trucks custom-built to do the job right and ensure the entire process is as quick and clean as possible.

After collecting the used cooking oil, we reward the client based on the volume we collect.

We work on your schedule, so let us know when you need us by requesting a visit on our website.

Step 4: Aggregate the Used Cooking Oil

Because we work with businesses all around British Columbia, we aggregate the used cooking oil that we collect in our state of the art refining facility and prepare it for conversion into biodiesel.

Step 5: Biodiesel Production

In the final phase of this process, the used cooking oil that we’ve collected transforms into a green fuel by undergoing a chemical process that’s used by diesel engines (cars, trucks, boats, buses, etc.).

The entire process is built on the belief that we should provide the best service possible to our clients. We make it quick, simple, and rewarding for local businesses to dispose of their used cooking oil in a responsible and sustainable way that benefits the entire community–and the planet.
